Regular Bleaching earth is an ideal mineral used in filtering process for used food grade oils where filtration of harmful chemical residues and re-coloring of the oil is required. However, the active grade at low concentration is also used in re-refining process as a de-coloring and filtering agent for industrial oils, transformer oils or other solid and liquid lubes. The active grade is mainly recommended for petroleum products with low ignition temperature characteristic as the Bleaching earth can easily react at low temperature. The type of base oil and expected color (color index) will determine the dosage to use in re-refining process.
